The Russian Defense Ministry says its airstrikes in Syria are not targeting civilian infrastructure.
The comments come a day after an opposition Turkmen group accused Moscow of killing dozens of civilians in its airstrikes on Homs and Hama. The Russian Defense Ministry says the country’s warplanes have conducted at least 18 fresh sorties over Syria on the third day of the operation, hitting 12 Islamic State targets. Moscow says the airstrikes targeted ISIL positions in Idlib, Hama and Aleppo provinces as well as the city of Raqqah. A senior Russian lawmaker says the attacks in Syria will last for three to four months.
