Press TV has conducted an interview with Lawrence Davidson, a professor with the West Chester University from Pennsylvania, to get his take on the ongoing Saudi war against Yemen.

The following is a rough transcription of the interview.

Press TV: How much are the Yemeni forces gaining against the Saudis?

Davidson: I think that the problem for the Houthis is that Saudi Arabia is increasingly rallying an Arab [Persian] Gulf states force to wage the land war. And therefore, the Houthis are hitting back across the border into Saudi Arabia. But I don’t think their ability to strike across the border into Saudi Arabia is an indicator that the Houthis are wining this war.

Press TV: How can this war come to an end? Is there any chance of a diplomatic solution?

Davidson: I imagine at some point, the forces will balance out and there might be a chance for a diplomatic solution. However, I think the present Saudi government is at this point convinced that they can crush the Houthis, and as long as they have that notion, as long as they’re able to feed into the war...I think, it’s going to just continue.
