Press TV has interviewed Mark Glenn, with the Crescent and Cross Solidarity Movement, in Idaho, and Frederick Peterson, a congressional defense policy adviser, in Richmond, to discuss the recent anti-Muslim remarks by US politicians.

Glenn says that bullying Muslims is “the last acceptable form of bigotry” in America today.

“It is a big business, not only for the war machine but in addition to that, the pro-Israel lobby loves candidates who are out there bashing Islam, because it is going to make Israel’s business of massacring innocent Muslims in the Middle East much easier,” he says.

The analyst maintains that all of the presidential candidates in the US are aware that the only chance to stay in the race to the White House is to be in favor of “past, present and future” Israeli policies and “keep the Islamophobic war machine going.”

Peterson, for his part, says that it is the “totality of Sharia law” which is being objected to in the US and not Islam as a religion. He claims that “as an essential part of some variants of Islam,” the Shariah law is feared to dominate the US Constitution in case a Muslim president takes office.
