US agenda in Mideast is preservation, dominance of Israel: Activist

The US agenda in the Middle East is the preservation and dominance of Israel and the harvesting of natural resources as well as destabilizing Muslim nations in the region, an American activist and radio host in California says.

The Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group was created by the US and its allies to further those three Zionist objectives in the Middle East, said Rodney Martin, who served for a time on the staff of a US congressman.

Russia is forming a geological alliance with Iran and other Asian countries to fight the ISIL terror network and counter US hegemony and colonialism, Martin told Press TV on Tuesday.

Western “colonialism is alive and well, the West just repackages it, they call it democracy and spreading freedom,” he added. “What that is, is more American colonialism by way of vulture capitalism and enslaving nations by way of excessive debt and cultural decadence.”

A new Pentagon report that alleges senior US military officers manipulated the conclusions of reports on the war against ISIL is part of a long pattern of skewing intelligence by US officials to destabilize the Middle East, Martin argued.

A US-led coalition is conducting air strikes in Syria and Iraq targeting ISIL. The United States first started striking the extremist group inside Syria and Iraq about a year ago, but has been unable to push the group back from major cities in those two nations.

Intelligence analysts working for US Central Command, which oversees the American war in Syria and Iraq, say the leadership of their intelligence section rejected or suppressed negative assessments of the US position in the conflict against ISIL and al-Qaeda, according to media reports.

In some cases, the military brass even altered the critical reports in order to make them fall in line with the Obama administration’s official narrative that the so-called anti-ISIL campaign was making progress and would end with the group’s destruction.
