Israel trying to Judaize al-Aqsa mosque: Pundit

Press TV has interviewed the Free Palestine Movement’s co-founder Paul Larudee from Berkeley, and Carol Gould, an author and political commentator from London, to discuss the clashes between Palestinian worshipers and Israeli troops in al-Aqsa Mosque.

Larudee maintains the Zionist community has been trying to establish a single state in the Palestinian lands over the past 100 years, adding that they brought millions of Zionists to the Middle East region and expelled millions of Arabs in order to create such an entity.

The Zionist regime in Israel has tried to eliminate the culture, tradition and holy places of Muslims and Arabs in Palestine, the activist says, noting that the Israeli military’s attacks on al-Aqsa Mosque are aimed at Judaizing the holy site.

The Israeli regime prevents Palestinians from entering the third holiest mosque in Islam, disrupting Muslim prayers at the compound, she says.

There would be no conflict between Muslims and Zionists at Aqsa if Israeli armed forces and extremists avoided entering the mosque, he argues.

Gould, for her part, believes the Israeli regime has tightened security measures at al-Aqsa Mosque in a bid to prevent violence during the Jewish New Year events.

She also says Israel is fearful of foreign extremists, who may infiltrate into the occupied lands of Palestine and carry out terrorist attacks in al-Quds (Jerusalem).
