17th Festival of Ritual and Traditional Plays in Tehran

Iran holds the 17th Festival of Ritual and Traditional Plays in the capital, Tehran.

In this feature, we take a brief look at the 17th Festival of Ritual and Traditional Plays which took place last week here in Tehran. This year's festival hosted stage and street theater troupes from different cities across the country, entertaining people with a variety of traditional plays.

Tehran is a bustling metropolis from construction sites to tunnels, bridges, towers and luxurious buildings. Each and every day, there is a part of the city that's just for kitchens and modern living.

The Lariha house is one of the best preserved Qajar-era houses in Yazd city, located in the eastern part of central Iran. The house is about 150 years old and covers an area of about 1700 square meters. It was built by Haj Mohammad Ebrahim Lari, a wealthy merchant of the time in the 19th century.
