Iraqi parliament speaker arrives in Iran for talks

Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri has arrived in the Iranian capital of Tehran to hold talks with senior officials of the Islamic Republic.

Jabouri was welcomed by First Vice Speaker of Iran's Parliament (Majlis) Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi-Fard at Tehran's Mehrabad Airport upon his arrival.

During his stay in Tehran, the Iraqi parliament speaker plans to sit down with his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani, President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

A number of Iraqi lawmakers are accompanying Jabouri during his trip to Iran.
