Women-only train carriages in UK

For over a century, women-only carriages were a familiar sight in the British railways until 1977, when they were officially abolished on British rail trains.

These days, it seems that female-only carriers are once again an attractive option when it comes to female public transport users, and the option may soon come back.

Meanwhile, a petition launched under the auspices of the British parliament calling for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu upon his official state visit to the United Kingdom scheduled for September has now turned to a new headache for David Cameron and his cabinet.
