Sweden 2015 Yari Film Festival to screen Iranian films

Sweden’s 2015 Yari Film Festival will screen Iranian films and documentaries on October 3 and 4.

Sweden is set to hold the 2015 edition of Yari Film Festival, screening cinematic productions by Iranian filmmakers.

Some 19 Iranian feature-length and short films as well as documentaries will participate in the annual event due to be held in the cities of Stockholm and Uppsala.

Marjan Riahi’s ‘Iranian Ninja,’ Houman Seyyedi’s ’13,’ Rakhshan Banietemad’s ‘Tales,’, Tahmineh Bahram-Alian’s ‘Before Sunrise,’ and Morteza Shams’s ‘Mom’s Birthday’ are among the works set to be screened during the festival.

Organized and sponsored by Yari charity organization, the event will also host a number of acclaimed Iranian actors and actresses, including Roya Teimourian and Amir Jafari, as guests of honor.

The revenue from the festival will be used to build schools and libraries for Iranian children.

Founded by the Iranian residents of Uppsala in 1998, Yari is a non-profit, independent, and non-political association offering economic and social support to underprivileged children and teenagers living in Iran.

This year’s Yari Film Festival will run from October 3 and 4, 2015.
