Hundreds of Syrian people have staged a demonstration in the city of Homs, and called for action to save two besieged villages in the northern Idlib province.

Protesters on Friday gathered in front of al-Safir Hotel, outside the UN mission in the western Homs province, and chanted slogans against Takfiri terrorists, who have besieged the two villages of Fuaa and Kafaria for the last five months.

They also called on the international community to help lift the siege of the two villages, liberate their 40,000 entrapped inhabitants, and send relief aid to the area.

Fuaa and Kafaria are the last government-held areas in the province, which have been besieged by al-Qaeda-linked terrorists since March.

The conflict in Syria has reportedly claimed the lives of more than 240,000 people since March 2011. The United Nations says the militancy has displaced 7.6 million Syrians internally, and compelled some 4.1 million others to take refuge mostly in neighboring countries.
