1. The Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution says there will be no deal with the P5+1 over Iran’s nuclear energy activities if the sanctions against the country are not lifted. Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the sanctions against Tehran must be lifted and not suspended.

2. Tehran says it will continue its all-out support for Damascus, praising Syria’s war against terrorism. Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the remark at a press conference following his meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus. Amir-Abdollahian also warned about the sweeping wave of terrorism in the region.

3. The Saudi war on Yemen rages on incessantly. The latest bombardments took place in the northern province of Sa’ada province, killing a little girl. Saudi warplanes also pounded a residential area and a market in the city of Sa’ada.

4. In Turkey, at least four police officers have been killed in a bomb blast blamed on militants from the Kurdistan Workers Party or the PKK. The victims were travelling in the south-eastern province of Mardin when a roadside bomb hit their vehicle.

5. Hungarian police have re-opened the gates of a train station in Budapest to thousands of asylum-seekers hoping to reach Germany and other European countries. Thousands of refugees had been stranded in front of the station, with many spending the night outside the premises.

6. The Spanish Senate approves an agreement to convert a military site in the country’s south into a permanent U-S base for operations in Africa. The senate approval allows a permanent force of 22-hundred U-S Marines to be based in the city of Seville for operations in Africa.

7. An African American activist has been arrested in Baltimore during a protest to condemn police violence against the black community. The protest had been held to demand justice for Freddie Gray and other African Americans that the protesters say have suffered from police brutality.

8. Guatemalan President Otto Perez has resigned after a court issued an arrest warrant against him over his alleged role in a scandalous corruption case. This came after Guatemalan lawmakers voted for the removal of Perez’s immunity from prosecution.
