1. Israeli forces have demolished at least 25 structures belonging to Palestinian Bedouins outside the village of Jaba, near Jerusalem al-Quds. According to rights groups, the destructions have displaced some 100 people, including about 70 minors. In mid-August, more than 40 Palestinian homes were demolished in the occupied territories.

2. Seven American Jewish ex-lawmakers are among the 75 former Congress members who have signed a letter, urging the US Congress to support the Iran nuclear deal. It also urges sanctions relief for Iran. The Congress is expected to vote on the deal in September.

3. Tens of thousands of people in Europe have demonstrated against the ill-treatment of refugees. Rallies were held in Austria, Germany and Serbia. Public anger against Europe's approach to the issue has boiled over, following the discovery of 71 bodies in an abandoned truck in Austria.

4. The United Nations has confirmed the destruction of the ancient Temple of Bel in the Syrian city of Palmyra by Daesh terrorists. The monument apparently came down after a powerful blast rocked it on Sunday. A week earlier, the Takfiri group also blew up the smaller Ba’al Shamin temple in the same city.

5. Israeli forces have wounded a number of Palestinians after attacking a refugee camp in the city of Jenin. Palestinian fighters have also clashed with Israeli forces inside the city. Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers blew up the house of a Palestinian leader after arresting him and three members of his family.

6. Colima volcano in Mexico has erupted massive amounts of ash and vapor into the sky. Locals say they witnessed several explosions. Colima has been active for the past few weeks but authorities believe that the volcano is not of imminent threat to locals at the moment.

7. New chemical explosions in the Chinese city of Tianjin have claimed 8 more lives. Some 15 other people are still missing. The latest incident brings the total number of the victims to nearly 160 since August 12, when massive explosions hit warehouses containing hazardous chemicals.

8. Japan’s defense ministry has requested a 41-billion-dollar budget to enhance its military capabilities. Much of the amount is aimed at protecting the disputed Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea. Tokyo is concerned over Beijing's military influence in the region and its construction in the South China Sea.
