The US administration of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney considered using nuclear weapons against Afghanistan following the September 11, 2001 attacks, a new report reveals.

Michael Steiner, a former political adviser to Germany’s then-Chancellor Gerhard Schroder, said in a report published by the Der Spiegel website on Saturday that the nuclear option was one of the possibilities examined by the United States after the terrorist attacks.

According to Der Spiegel, “The papers were written,” Steiner said when asked whether the United States considered using nuclear weapons in response to the attack. “They had really played through all possibilities.”

The German official stated that Schroder had feared that the United States would overreact to 9/11.

The September, 11, 2001 attacks, also known as the 9/11 attacks, were a series of strikes in the US which killed nearly 3,000 people and caused about $10 billion worth of property and infrastructure damage.

US officials assert that the attacks were carried out by al-Qaeda terrorists but many experts have raised questions about the official account.

They believe that rogue elements within the US government orchestrated or at least encouraged the 9/11 attacks in order to accelerate the US war machine and advance the Zionist agenda.

According to US academic Dr. Kevin Barrett, the intelligence agencies of the US, Israel and Saudi Arabia played important roles in planning and orchestrating the September 11 attacks.

He has said that the 9/11 was not a hijacking incident but a military attack. “There was in fact no hijacking in 9/11. It was a simulated hijacking and in fact it was a military attack.”

Gordon Duff, the senior editor of Veterans Today, has discussed the 9/11 issue in his several articles and interviews.

In one of his articles, Duff writes that Israel’s Mossad worked with the Bush administration to plan and execute the 9/11 atrocity.
