Daesh terrorist have kidnapped some 70 people protesting the Takfiri groups’ recent execution of a local resident in a remote western Iraqi town, security sources say.

Hundreds of people from the ISIL-held town of Rutbah in the western Anbar province took part in the demonstration, which was triggered by the execution of Munir al-Kobeisi, Iraqi officials were quoted by the Associated Press as saying on Saturday.

Kobeisi, a civil servant, was executed early on Saturday for killing an ISIL group member over a long time clan feud, said provincial spokesman Eid Amash. He added that the current whereabouts of the missing protesters are still unknown.

Apart from the missing protesters, dozens of others were reportedly tied to lamp posts as a manner of punishment.

Takfiri militants have been accused of committing gross human rights violations in Iraq and Syria, including rape, summary executions, mass kidnappings, and massacres.

The northern and western parts of Iraq have been plagued by gruesome violence ever since the terrorists began their campaign of terror in the country in 2014.

Iraqi military and volunteer forces have been engaged in a massive operation to push the militants back from Anbar, while a plan is also on the agenda to attack the Takfiris in Mosul in north of the country.
