Syria, Takfiris resume fighting in 3 key areas after truce

Clashes have resumed between the Syrian army and militants in a key town and two villages after a 48-hour truce expired.

A UK-based Syrian opposition source says clashes broke out again in the militant-held town of Zabadani and the Shia villages of Fuaa and Kafraya controlled by the army. The opposition source said clashes are underway in Zabadani, and Fuaa and Kafraya are being shelled. The two Shia villages are the government’s last strongholds in the northwestern Idlib province. They have been under a siege by a militant alliance including al-Qaeda's affiliate Nusra Front. Zabadani, along Syria's border with Lebanon, has been under attack by the army and Hezbollah fighters. The truce came into force on Thursday after talks between the two sides.
