Yemeni forces launch Scud Missile on Saudi Arabia
Yemeni military forces have launched a Scud missile at a target in Saudi Arabia, as part of retaliatory strikes over the deadly Saudi military campaign against Yemen.
Arab media sources reported on Wednesday that the Scud ballistic missiles hit the Hamiyeh power plant in Saudi Jizan Province, killing the soldiers guarding the facility.
The Yemeni army, backed by Popular Committees, also launched 40 rockets across the border into southern Saudi Arabia, hitting an army depot in Beryanin base in the province of Najran.
The army, backed by Popular Committees forces, also destroyed several military vehicles, including an army tank, in the al-Amood and al-Mam'ud districts of Jizan Province, respectively.
Yemeni army troops and allied forces also fired artillery shells at a Saudi military base in Hathirah in Jizan region.
Relentless aggression
Saudi Arabia’s jet bombers continued their daily air strikes on Yemeni targets on Wednesday.
In the Wednesday airstrikes, Saudi jets attacked the provinces of Jawf, Hajjah, Sana’a, Sa’ada and Ma’rib.
The airstrikes in Jawf hit a residential area, killing and injuring several people.
Other airstrikes targeted the city of Abs in Hajjah Province, and Sanhan and Bani Buhlul cities, in Sana’a Province.
In the capital city, Sana’a, Saudi warplanes targeted residential areas, leaving some casualties there. Saudi airstrikes on a clinic in Sa’ada Province also left a Yemeni physician killed and a civilian wounded.
Six Yemenis were killed in a Saudi air raid on a house in Razih district in Sa’ada Province. Saudi warplanes also launched two airstrikes on Baqim district in Sa’ada.
Saudi Arabia began its military aggression against Yemen on March 26 – without a UN mandate – in a bid to restore power to former fugitive President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh, and to weaken Yemen’s popular Houthi Ansarullah movement.
According to some reports, more than 5,000 people have lost their lives since Saudi Arabia unleashed its brutal aggression against Yemen five months ago.
