US aggression may lead to WWIII between West, East: Investigative journalist

The goal of the foreign policy of the United States is to destabilize foreign governments around the world.

The United States is the “main aggressor” in the polarized conflict between the West and the East, which may ultimately lead to World War III, an investigative journalist says.

Joachim Hagopian said the goal of the foreign policy of Washington is to destabilize foreign governments around the world for the benefit of US interests.

“The United States foreign policy is one of destabilization of every region it’s connected with, which is the whole world,” said Hagopian.

“We see it in the Middle East, we see it in North Africa and we’re seeing it obviously in Asia,” he told Press TV on Sunday.

He made the remarks after North Korea threatened to attack US military bases if Washington does not cancel its multinational war games near the country.

The journalist said North Korea is ratcheting-up its rhetoric with its latest threat to attack the US if it carries out a military exercise with South Korea this week.

“They are upping the ante here,” Hagopian observed. “The rhetoric is amping up.”

The annual war games, called Ulchi Freedom Guardian, is the world's largest computerized command and control implementation which mainly focuses on defending South Korea from an attack on North Korea.

This year’s exercise also includes forces from Canada, Australia, Denmark, France, New Zealand, Colombia, and the United Kingdom. It will last 12 days and conclude August 28.

Meanwhile, North Korea is under UN sanctions over launching rockets considered by the US and South Korea as ballistic missiles aimed at delivering nuclear warheads, but Pyongyang says its numerous missile tests seek to boost defense capabilities in the face of enemy threats.
