Jeb Bush wants to implement war-like policies: Analyst
Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush would follow his father and brother in implementing war-like policies around the world, says a former US Senate candidate.
Jeb Bush is proposing policies “like King George Herbert Walker Bush (president of the United States from 1989 to 1993), and King George W. Bush (former US president and Jeb’s brother) that we now have King Jeb Bush to implement war-like policies around the world,” said Mark Dankof, who is also a broadcaster in San Antonio, Texas.
He made the remarks in a phone interview with Press TV when asked to comment on the latest remarks by Bush to create a no-fly zone over Syria to topple President Bashar al-Assad.
In a foreign policy address at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on Tuesday, Bush said a no-fly zone and other "safe zones" in Syria would not only help in the fight against the ISIL terrorist group, but would also help defeat the Syrian government.
“In the first place, Mr. Bush needs to understand that being involved in creating a no-fly zone over Syria is illegal,” Dankof said Wednesday.
“Jeb Bush is basically talking about more intervention in the Middle East, more warfare in the Middle East, more extremism in the Middle East,” said Dankof adding that “because the fact of the matter is that the neo-conservative advisers that Mr. Bush has and the neo-conservative pro-Zionist advisers that virtually all these other Republican presidential contenders have, have desire to illegitimately overthrow President Assad of Syria from the beginning, because it was their desire to bring about a foreign policy that would be the foreign policy that Israel would want.”
Bush also blamed President Barack Obama and former secretary of state and Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton for the rise of ISIL in the Middle East.
Dankof, however said, “Jeb Bush seems not to understand that his father’s invasion of Iraq in 1991 helped to facilitate this present situation. Certainly his brother’s interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan took this whole situation was supporting extremism in the Middle East, even further by facilitating the conditions that allow for extremism to rise.”
The former senate candidate said, “The fact is clear; the United States has made a mess in the Middle East by continuing the intervening situation.”
