All but Zionists, US warmongers happy about Iran agreement: Rouhani

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has praised the recent nuclear conclusion between Iran and the P5+1 countries, saying the entire Middle East and world nations are pleased with the accord except for the Israelis and warmongers in the United States.

“After Iran and global powers reached an agreement known as the Vienna agreement, you see that the regime screaming in fear from dawn to dusk is the occupying Zionist regime of Israel. You see that the whole region, regional nations and the great Iranian nation are happy, but not Zionists and warmongers in America,” Rouhani said, addressing a gathering of people in Islamshahr, southern Tehran, on Thursday.

He further commended the Iranian nation, legal experts and diplomats, saying that Iranian representatives honorably returned home victoriously following 23 months of painstaking negotiations.

Meanwhile, a large number of former Israeli military generals and security chiefs have called upon Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to renounce his hostile stance toward the nuclear conclusion and accept it.

Netanyahu launched a hostile campaign against the July 14 finalization of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) between Iran and the P5+1 countries, calling it a “historic mistake.”

Under the JCPOA, limits will be put on Iran’s nuclear activities in exchange for, among other things, the removal of all economic and financial bans against the Islamic Republic.

The UN Security Council on July 20 unanimously endorsed a draft resolution turning the JCPOA into international law. All 15 members of the UN body voted for the draft UN resolution in New York, setting the stage for the lifting of the Security Council sanctions against Iran.
