US confirms bombing positions of ISIL terrorists in Syria
The United States has confirmed that it has used its air power to bomb the positions of a Takfiri militant group in Syria.
A Pentagon spokesman says the airstrike was carried out on Friday in support of a new militant group trained by US forces in Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. A senior administration official also said that US warplanes targeted Al-Nusra Front terrorists in response to an attack on the so-called New Syria Force militants. The US is already carrying out airstrikes in Iraq and Syria without a UN mandate.
