Britain’s Labour leadership frontrunner has blamed the government of Prime Minister David Cameron for the country’s financial crisis.
Jeremy Corbyn was speaking at a rally in support of his candidacy in London. He said the crisis is the outcome of the current government’s inability or refusal to face up to the flawed financial system. Corbyn said Labour had been wrong to accept Conservative arguments on the economy and blamed it for May's devastating election defeat. During his speech, Corbyn also questioned the British government’s approach toward the migrant crisis. While referring to the migrants as desperate people, the Labour leadership contender said Britain needs to look at the issue from a humanitarian perspective.
