1. CIA's former executive director says the US intelligence agency tortured terror suspects under a program called enhanced interrogation. Buzzy Krongard, who served between 2001 and 2004, has admitted that the agency has used torture methods like water boarding and putting suspects in painful positions.

2. At least three Turkish soldiers have been killed and a fourth one wounded in a mine explosion in the southeastern province of Sirnak bordering Iraq and Syria. Security sources blame Kurdistan Workers’ Party for the explosion, which triggered clashes between Turkish soldiers and PKK fighters.

3. A new wave of fighting between Pakistani and Indian troops along the disputed border region of Kashmir leaves at least two Pakistanis and an Indian villager dead. The two sides are trading blame for the exchange of fire. In July, at least five civilians died on both sides during cross-border clashes.

4. Israeli settlers have stormed the al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied East Jerusalem al-Quds. Press TV has learned that the raid has provoked heavy clashes between the settlers and Palestinian worshippers. Reports say that Israeli forces have arrested a number of Palestinians during the clashes.

5. Israel has ordered that the houses of seven Palestinian Bedouin families in the occupied West Bank be demolished. The move will displace at least 50 people, many of them children. Residents say demolition orders will also be issued for dozens of other homes in the same neighborhood.

6. The ISIL Takfiri terrorists have slain nearly 2,000 people in Iraq’s northwestern city of Mosul over the past two weeks. According to Kurdish sources, the terrorists have published the names of those who were arrested and killed recently. Most of the victims were soldiers and the Electoral Commission staff in Mosul.

7. Forces loyal to Yemen’s former regime say ground troops from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are assisting them in the fight against Ansarullah to seize Yemen’s largest air base, al-Anad. They say a military brigade from the UAE landed in Aden just days before the offensive was launched.

8. The latest round of Saudi airstrikes on Yemen has left at least four civilians dead. Several others were injured in the air raids on a gas station and a residential area in the northern province of Jawf. The warplanes also targeted the capital Sana'a. There've been no reports of casualties there.
