Ukrainians celebrate Kievan Rus Baptism Day

Kiev was the first city in the ancient region of Rus to adopt Christianity in 10th century AD. The city's residents converted to the religion under the rule of Prince of Rus, Volodymyr the great. July 28 celebrates the baptism day of Kievan Rus and marks one thousand years since the death of the then ruler of the ancient city.
