Iran judoka Nikfarjad clinches gold in 2015 Medigames

Iranian judo practitioner Hossein Nikfarjad has stood out at the 36th edition of World Medical and Health Games in Ireland, snatching a gold medal for the country.

On Wednesday, Nikfarjad, who is also the deputy director for physical education at the Department of Student Affairs of Iran’s Ministry of Health and Medical Education, trounced his opponents in the men’s minus 81-kilogram weight division and stood atop the podium.

The 36th edition of World Medical and Health Games opened in the Irish city of Limerick on July 18, and will wrap up on July 25.

Iranian athletes are in action across three sports. They are competing in judo, swimming and table tennis.
