AIPAC ‘rules, writes US foreign policy’

Christie said the AIPAC is ruling and writing US foreign policy.

American journalist David Christie says the American Israel Public Affairs Committee is ruling and writing US foreign policy after the pro-Israel lobbying group urged Congress to reject Iran’s nuclear agreement.

“A nation of 300 million people is literally ruled and its foreign policy is directed from thousands of miles away in another land in a nation of six million people by a creature, called Netanyahu, that works for the machine, called AIPAC, that rules and writes our foreign policies for its own singular agenda,” Christie said in an interview with Press TV on Thursday.

The journalist made the remarks one day after the AIPAC said in a statement that “the proposed agreement has significant flaws."

It said the nuclear accord does not give permission to inspectors to inspect Iranian nuclear sites "anytime, anywhere"; does not condition lifting of sanctions toward verifying Tehran meet demands on the possible military dimensions of its nuclear program; it starts to remove sanctions immediately; it lifts restrictions in eight years; and does not dismantle any nuclear centrifuges.

Iran and the six world powers concluded the nuclear negotiations in Vienna on Tuesday.

Israel immediately reacted to the agreement and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described it as a “historic mistake.”

Christie, however, explained that the United States and Israel have nuclear weapons, but they threaten Iran that has no nuclear arms.

“The USA has actually used nuclear weapons against the civilian population, killing hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians as recently as 70 years ago and… arms its ally Israel to the teeth,” he said.

“Neither Israel or the USA, both bristling with nuclear weapons and threatening to use them on a regular basis, has not entered into any terms or treaties whatsoever to control their arsenals,” the analyst added.

He also noted Iran is “a country that has no nuclear weapons, a country that has not attacked anybody or started any wars in living memory, a country that has stated time and time again that it has no nuclear ambitions and is abided by every treaty ever presented to it.”
