The majority of Iranian lawmakers have commended resistance of the country’s nuclear negotiating team against excessive demands of the "US-led arrogant powers" in the talks with the P5+1 group of countries.

In a Sunday statement, 203 lawmakers said Iran has proved its goodwill in the talks with the six world powers, which have reached a “sensitive” phase after all ups and downs.

The statement added that arrogant powers, particularly the United States, pursue evil objectives in the course of the negotiations.

The US politicians are not trustworthy and seek to deprive the Iranian people of their rights, the legislators stated.

The lawmakers once again emphasized Iran’s demands, saying the banking sanctions and arms embargo against the Islamic Republic must be removed on the day Tehran begins implementing a potential comprehensive deal with the P5+1.

The statement rejected any inspection of the Iranian military sites, interviews with Iranian scientists and imposing restrictions on the country’s nuclear research and development.

Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China – plus Germany have been holding intensive talks over the past 16 days in the Austrian capital of Vienna to iron out the remaining differences and nail down a landmark deal on Tehran’s nuclear program.

With a new Monday deadline for a deal looming, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and US Secretary of State John Kerry held two rounds of talks on Saturday. The top Iranian and US diplomats also held a meeting in the presence of the European Union foreign policy chief, Frederica Mogherini.
