At least two people have reportedly been killed after Saudi fighter jets attacked a German aid convoy in Yemen’s northwestern province of Sa’ada.

No further details have emerged about the airstrike that was carried out on Friday.

Saudi fighter jets have been pounding Yemen since March 26 without authorization from the United Nations and heedless of international calls for a halt to the onslaught.

Over 3,000 people, including 1,500 civilians, have been killed since conflict started in Yemen in March 19, according to the UN.

On Thursday, the UN announced that a humanitarian truce will be implemented in Yemen to allow the delivery of urgently needed aid to civilians.
The pause in fighting will take effect at 23:59 local time (2059 GMT) on Friday and will run up to the end of the fasting month of Ramadan on July 17.
