At least one person has been killed and five others wounded in an ISIL Takfiri terrorist bomb attack on a Shia mosque in the Yemeni capital city of Sana’a.

A “bomb-rigged car” exploded outside the al-Raoudh mosque in southeast Sana’a as worshipers were leaving after prayers," AFP quoted security officials as saying on Tuesday.

The blast and casualties have been confirmed by local Yemeni medical and security sources.

ISIL, which has seized parts of land in Iraq, Syria and other countries, claimed responsibility for the attack several hours after it occurred.

Also on Tuesday, at least 10 people, including two children, were killed as a bomb went off near a police station in the country’s central Bayda province.

At least nine other people were also killed in a Saudi navy attack on a mosque in the country’s southwestern Lahij province.

Earlier in the day, Saudi warplanes carried out two attacks on a power station in Bayda province, and multiple raids on a college in the Zahir district. The number of casualties of the Saudi aerial attacks was not immediately available.

Saudi Arabia has been bombarding Yemen since March 26 without any authorization from the United Nations.

According to the UN, over 3,000 Yemenis have been killed and 14,000 more injured in over three months of unrest in the country; however, Yemeni sources put the death toll at over 4,500.

The Saudi aggression began with the main objective of weakening the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restoring power to Riyadh’s staunch ally, fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.
