1. At least 50 people have been killed in Saudi airstrikes in southern Yemeni province of Lahij. Over 50 people also died in attacks on the northern city of Amran. More than 45-hundred Yemenis have been killed in the Saudi onslaught which began in March.

2. The Syrian army is pressing ahead with its offensive against ISIL terrorists, flushing them out of their hideouts in north-eastern city of Hasakah. The army also managed to regain control over several strategic districts in central Hama province following an operation against the Takfiri terrorists.

3. US President Barack Obama says Washington is ramping up its airstrikes against ISIL’s bases in Syria. The comment comes as the US has been criticized for quote-lack of seriousness in the fight againt ISIL. Obama also renewed his call for the overthrow of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

4. Two US drone attacks have killed nearly 50 people in the eastern Afghan province of Nangarhar. Local officials say those killed were militants. The US says its unmanned aerial vehicles always target the militants. But many civilians have also been killed in the attacks.

5. Negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 in Vienna have entered Tuesday, which is the deadline for a comprehensive nuclear deal. The two sides have held marathon talks to resolve disagreements ahead of the deadline. The White House has refused to rule out another extension of the talks.

6. Stocks in the US fell following sharper drops in Europe and Asia over fears of a Greek exit from the Eurozone. Global financial markets reacted after people in Greece rejected the terms of an international bailout in a referendum. The euro also fell 0.4 percent against the dollar.

7. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has met with French President Francois Hollande in Paris to talk about Greece’s debt crisis. Both leaders called on Athens to make serious and credible proposals. Greece is to submit its new proposals regarding a bailout deal to a eurozone summit on Tuesday.

8. Anti-war protesters have shut down three Israeli arms factories across Britain on the first anniversary of Israel’s deadly war on Gaza. They accused Israeli arms firm Elbit of complicity in Tel Aviv’s war crimes against Palestinians. They also called on Britain to end its arms trade with Israel.
