Non-governmental organizations in Yemen are calling for an immediate end to the Saudi invasion of the impoverished nation. They have warned that the humanitarian situation under Saudi fire has reached an alarming level with the private sector and health service in a state of total collapse.

Relentless Saudi bombardment and the tight siege have massively impacted the Yemeni private sector. The country’s chamber of commerce has held a joint press conference with non-governmental organizations to discuss ways how to face Riyadh’s aggression and indiscriminate air raids on Yemen’s industrial and economic infrastructure.

Businessmen and representatives of non-governmental organizations also complained that the Saudi tight siege has prevented the entry of basic commodities causing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis which has resulted in the death of patients with chronic diseases.

Meanwhile, rights activists have applauded a recent report by Human Rights Watch on the Saudi aggression, accusing Riaydh of committing crimes against humanity, particularly in the province of Sa’ada. The activists urged the trial of perpetrators at the International Court of Justice.

Thousands of Yemenis have been killed since the Saudi invasion of Yemen began in late March. Riaydh’s indiscriminate bombardment of residential areas has particularly hit Sadah province the hardest.

As the humanitarian crisis continues to deteriorate in Yemen, non-governmental organizations are raising the alarm, calling for an end to the Saudi war and the prosecution of perpetrators of crimes against the people of the impoverished country.
