1- Russia’s deputy defense minister says theWest and its regional allies created ISIL terrorist group to overthrow the Syrian government. made the comments after a meeting of defense ministers from the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Saint Petersburg. He expressed deep concern over the formation of ISIL. Antonov also referred to the recent terrorist attacks in France and Denmark, saying the militants will take their capabilities home when they return to their countries from Syria.

2- A monitoring group says the ISIL terrorists have launched a surprise attack on the Syrian town of Tal Abyad near the border with Turkey.  According to the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the Takfiri group took control of an eastern district of the town. Heavy clashes are still underway in Tal Abyad. The UK-based opposition source said Kurdish fighters are now trying to encircle the terrorists and prevent them from advancing further. Kurdish fighters captured the town on June 16. Tal Abyad was a crucial supply route for the transfer of weapons and terrorists to and from Raqqa.

3-  The Tunisian leftist lawyer Chokri Belaid was assassinated on February 6, 2013. After two years of investigation, the trial of 30 people accused of plotting the assassination has opened in Tunisia's capital.

4- A powerful blast has hit a NATO military convoy near the diplomatic quarter in the Afghan capital Kabul. At least two NATO troops have been injured in the attack. A spokeswoman for NATO says the two coalition troops suffered minor injuries. The bombs exploded on the main road to Kabul’s airport which is about half a kilometer from the US Embassy building and near a base for US-led NATO troops. The explosion also claimed the life of one Afghan civilian, and left 22 others injured. Kabul's deputy police chief says the explosion which occurred near a busy shopping district came as government employees were leaving their offices at the end of the working day. The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack.

5- Iran's president is warning that if the other side in nuclear talks violates a possible final deal, Tehran would resume its nuclear activities more intensively than before. Hassan Rouhani said Iran will remain committed to a final deal if the P5+1 countries fulfil their obligations. Meanwhile, US President Barack Obama says he will not hesitate to walk away from a nuclear deal if its terms are not satisfactory.
