US driving war policy towards Russia and China: Analyst

The US military posture in Europe and Asia “could very well lead to war within the coming weeks," said Mike Billington.

The United States and its allies are making unprecedented efforts to wage war against Russia and China in order to prevent them from creating a new political and economic order in the world, an activist and journalist in Washington says.

“The United States under [President Barack] Obama, being run by their controllers in Wall Street and the City of London, are driving a war confrontation policy towards both Russia and China, which is unprecedented in history,” said Mike Billington, the Asia editor for the Executive Intelligence Review.

“They are willing to go to war to stop the development of the BRICS, to prevent their power over the world as a whole,” Billington told Press TV on Saturday.

BRICS is the acronym for an association of five major emerging economies of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. They are distinguished by their large, fast-growing economies and significant influence on regional and global affair.

US Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Friday compared China's behavior in pursuit of territory in the South China Sea to that of Russia in eastern Ukraine. He called China's construction projects in the South China Sea "a threat to peace and stability."

Billington dismissed the senior diplomat’s comments as “nonsense” and “absurd.”

“This surrounding of Russia and China is part of a war policy which in fact has nothing to do with the South China Sea or Ukraine, those are the useful excuses that have been used by this fanatic, insane Obama administration on behalf of Wall Street, whose concern with Russia and China is not that they are being aggressors, but rather that they have been the leading force in creating this new global, financial and economic development institution known as the BRICS,” he noted.

The US military posture in Europe and Asia “could very well lead to war within the coming weeks, that’s how close we are, closer than we’ve ever been in history to a nuclear war between the West and this Russia-China axis along with India and others in the BRICS networks,” Billington observed.
