Israel lobby pushing US to thwart nuclear deal with Iran: Analyst

“The problem that we have right now in America with people like John Kerry, the secretary of state, of course, is that you have a lot of Zionist influence, said James Morris

The powerful Israel lobby in the United States is seeking to forestall a nuclear agreement with Iran and ignite another war in the Middle East, a political commentator in Los Angeles says.

“The problem that we have right now in America with people like John Kerry, the secretary of state, of course, is that you have a lot of Zionist influence, said James Morris, editor of America-hijacked.com, a blog charting the influence of the Jewish lobby.

“The Israel lobby is working overtime to try to get a war going with Iran,” Morris told Press TV on Thursday. “It seems that we are on a path to another war for Israel in the Middle East.”

He made the comments after Kerry said on Wednesday there will be no nuclear deal with Iran if outstanding issues aren't resolved in the talks with the P5+1 countries.

“It may be that the Iranians will not fill out the full measure of what was agreed on in Lausanne, in which case there will not be an agreement," Kerry told reporters in Washington, DC.

Kerry said whether or not Iran and the P5+1 succeed in reaching an agreement "will be determined in the last days, by whether or not the outstanding issues that we've been very clear about are in fact addressed.”

The US State Department has said that Kerry, who is still walking on crutches after breaking his leg in a cycling accident in France late last month, remains focused on reaching an agreement with Iran over its nuclear program.

Kerry has supported the Zionist agenda against Islamic countries in the region, Morris said. “It seems that the Israel lobby would like to thwart this [nuclear] deal.”
