West is going to have to atone for creating ISIL: Former US Marine

Press TV has conducted an interview with Ken O’Keefe, a former US Marine, in London, for his comment on recent remarks by a Pentagon spokesman stating that the US has already started training the so-called moderate rebels in Syria.

What follows is a rough transcription of the interview.

Press TV: It is comments like this that fall under the hypocritical and much distorted view that there are good terrorists and there are bad terrorists.

O’Keefe: Indeed it is just a lie. At the end of the day these people work for the United States and the US tax payers are paying, invariably, many of this individuals who are guilty of some of the most horrendous modern day crimes we can imagine, including the cutting off the heads of Christians and Muslims; and also the wholesale slaughter of innocent men, women, and children. So this is acknowledged by the Pentagon, but it doesn’t really matter whether they acknowledge it or not. We know this to be true.

The bigger issue is for the West to really come to terms with what we are responsible for, especially in America and Britain. These conflicts have been masterfully created by the powers that be to manipulate us into these never-ending wars and when we really look deep down at the facts of how these things have occurred, whether it is Zbigniew Brzezinski meeting with Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan and declaring how Osama and his clan would win because God was on their side; the funding, the training, the arming; all of the things that we have done to create al-Qaeda are the same exact things which were done to create ISIS in Iraq which, of course, was on the back of our invasion and occupation and decimation of that country.

We are the ones that created this very monster to justify the never-ending policy of war and the military industrial complex, which has gone completely mad and threatens all people on planet Earth with these insane wars.

This is the reality and it is something that the West is going to have to face up to at some point.

Press TV: There was a part of the Pentagon spokesman’s comments that was quite absurd by many views and that was that a number of these militants are completing the “necessary screening.” How do you screen militants and does this put a big question mark over the overall structure of these operations that the United States is carrying out?

O’Keefe: We know for a fact that as an example, as a parallel to this, that in the United States the police that have been hired… they are profiling the police that have sociopathic, psychopathic tendencies. They will happily take some of the most violent and disturbed individuals from the military, who have served in wars and have gotten a sort of lust for killing. They have profiled for this types of people, so that would make sense if they would profile for psychopaths who are willing to do anything, literally, to terrorize the local population and ultimately to oust Bashar al-Assad.

Let us keep in mind that if this goal were successful - and anybody who has half a brain acknowledges this - no matter what you think of Bashar al-Assad - and I certainly have my own view - but the bottom-line is if Bashar al-Assad were to fall in this context, there will be a vacuum created and that vacuum will be filled with the most powerful entity within that area. We all know who that is right now; that is the psychopaths running around with US weapons, US training, and US money – directly and indirectly – from our proxies Saudi Arabia and Qatar primarily, but also Turkey.

So this is our monster; we did this, we are guilty of all of the crimes that are being committed in that region right now, and again I repeat this is something at some point the West is going to have to atone for.
