Britain: A long step closer to 1984 nightmare

The British Tory government is about to enact a new law which, under the guise of the “war on terror,” will expand the police and intelligence services' powers.

The act would criminalize any sort of political activity which the establishment deems to be extremism.

Many campaigners regard the act as part of an escalating international crackdown on democratic rights.

Meanwhile, after a Northern Ireland bakery was found guilty of discrimination against homosexuals, the old yet fierce debates about the positive discrimination is back to the spotlight.

The so-called “Gay Cake” story is not the only case of positive discrimination which many in the British society regard as injustice among other ordinary citizens.
