Iranian men’s national volleyball team has been defeated by world champion Poland in their third match of the 2015 Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) World League.

Polish volleyballers beat the quests in a Pool B match held in the Hala Sportowa Częstochowa arena in the southern Polish city of Czestochowa on Friday.

The Iranians lost the first set 25-20 and the second 25-22, although the Asian champions seemed to get better as the match went on.

Iran's boss Slobodan Kovac started the third set with two new players -- Mohammad Javad Manavinejad and Mohammad Hassan Senobar, a decision that paid off well as the Iranian squad showed a superb performance in the set and managed to overpower the 2014 champions 25-21.

In the Year 2014, Poland and Iran met five times with three wins for Poland and two wins for Iran.

On May 30, the US, the champion of the 2014 round of the games, managed to beat the Iranian squad 3-1 (25-19, 25-22, 23-25, 25-23) in a first match of the tourney. On May 31, the US squad could repeat its victory 3-1 (25-16, 25-16, 20-25, 25-20).

Iran is set to play against Poland on June 6 and will take on Russia on June 13 and 14.
