US military-industrial complex rekindles Cold War: Analyst

Harris said the US military-industrial complex decided to rekindle the Cold War.

American political commentator Mike Harris says the US military-industrial complex decided to rekindle the Cold War to make profits by spreading fear among the American people.

He said on Friday that Washington’s plan to deploy cruise missiles in Europe in order to counter Russia is another example of decisions made by the military-industrial complex.

“The issue with the US wants to put missile defenses that are capable of preemptive striking the Russian territories is really reminiscent of the Cold War,” Harris told Press TV.

“The military-industrial complex has been lobbying for a long time to create a new enemy up there. They staged 9/11 in order to promote a war on terrorism. There is no terrorism. The only terrorism that is committed, sponsored primarily by the US and its allies,” the analyst noted.

He added that they want to “create a mindset to build weapons, to soak up money that would never be going to be deployed.”

The analyst also reiterated that the people in the US do not want another Cold War.

“This is not what the American people want. The American people want peace in the world. We don’t want another arms race. We don’t want another Cold War. The American people want to normalize relations with countries like Russia, or Iran, or Syria,” he said.

“The military-industrial complex does not know how to profit out of peace and that is why they’re following these insane policies that are not productive and not beneficial to the American people or people of the world anywhere,” Harris concluded.
