Yemen army, Ansarullah shell Saudi military site in Jizan

An image grab taken from the Yemeni al-Masirah TV network shows Yemeni army firing missiles into Saudi Arabia, June 3, 2015.

The Yemeni army and fighters with the Popular Committees, including Ansarullah forceshave shelled the communication networks of the Mazhaf military site in Saudi Arabia’s Jizan region, reports say.

According to the footage released by the Yemeni al-Masirah TV network, the Yemenis targeted several Saudi military bases and camps on Wednesday.

The footage shows the army firing a number of Zelzal (earthquake) missiles.

Meanwhile, more than 30 rockets from Yemen also struck Saudi military positions at Zahran South in the Asir border region.

The developments came on the same day that fresh Saudi aerial raids in northwestern Yemen killed at least six people .

Also on Wednesday, Saudi warplanes intensified their airstrikes on Yemen’s capital of Sana’a.

The Al Saud regime, which started its military aggression against Yemen on March 26 - without a United Nation mandate, is continuing its deadly campaign against the impoverished Arabian Peninsula country unabated.

So far the conflict in Yemen has claimed the lives of approximately 2,000 people, according to the UN.

Riyadh launched the military with the aim of undermining Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, which currently controls Sana’a and some other major provinces, and restoring power to fugitive former Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, who is a staunch ally of Saudi Arabia.
