Yemenis see talks as solution to tensions

United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, says talks on resolving the crisis in Yemen will soon kick off in Geneva. The previous round of UN-brokered talks collapsed in the Swiss city after fugitive former Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi refused to attend the negotiating table. Our correspondent in Sana'a Mohammad al-Attab has the story.

June the 10th has been set as the date for the once postponed talks that were expected to discuss Yemen's situation in Geneva. Now the Ansarullah movement says it's ready to hold dialogue with other Yemeni factions in a bid to peacefully end the conflict in Yemen.
Meanwhile, analysts say Yemeni fighters' retaliatory operations inside Saudi Arabia will most probably force Riyadh to retreat.
The United Nations had earlier set May 28 as the date for talks on Yemen, but the initiative was postponed after Riyadh's efforts at sabotaging the event bore fruit.
Yemenis are optimistic about the anticipated Geneva talks. They believe that dialogue is the only policy to terminate the current political crisis; and there is consensus that this is dialogue alone that can put an end to Saudi's attacks that primarily began under the aegis of ending tensions in Yemen.
