Serious injuries in UK roller coaster crash

Reports coming out of the UK suggest that at least four people have been seriously injured in a roller coaster collision at an amusement park north of London.

The incident took place at the Alton Towers amusement park on Tuesday.

First aid staff rushed to the scene to help those on the ride. 

12 people have also suffered minor injuries with some occupants remaining trapped in the air at 45-degree angle.

Emergency services have building platform to free those trapped in the carriage.

Sixteen people were in one carriage of the Smiler ride when it collided with an empty stationary car.

Some reports suggest that there had been “technical issues” with the Smiler shortly before the crash happened.
