'Housing plan to raise pressures on families'

The housing plan of the government has raised criticisms among UK expert circles.

The housing plan of the all-out Conservative government of the Prime Minister David Cameron has sparked harsh criticism by economists who warn against its social consequences.

“The program of the new government will put more pressure on the people with low income with children,” Director of Seven Investment Management based in London Justine Urquhart Stewar told Press TV.

He went on saying that the government’s plans are just causing more pains for social groups and paves the way for more child poverty in the UK.

He also blamed the government for not taking serious child poverty in the country noting that such measures will only make more sever the current rate of child poverty.

Some reports say there are 3.5 million children living in poverty in the UK. That’s almost a third of all children. 1.6 million of these children live in severe poverty . In the UK 63% of children living in poverty are in a family where someone works .
