1. Saudi Arabia continues bombing Yemen. In the latest attacks, a military base in Lahij became the target of Saudi jets. Riyadh warplanes pounded several locations across Amran province as well. Earlier, several areas in provinces of Sa’ada and Hajjah came under Saudi artillery and rocket fire.

2. The ISIL terrorists have claimed responsibility for a new bomb attack in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. The blast killed at least four people, including the attacker. The bomb went off outside a Shia mosque in the town of Dammam. This is the second ISIL attack targeting Saudi Shias in a week.

3. The ISIL claims to have captured a military air base south of the Libyan city of Sirte. Violent clashes are reportedly raging on between the terrorists and government forces in the city. The ISIL emerged in Libya in February after releasing a video showing the beheading of Egyptian Christians in the country.

4. The Yemeni-Americans are living under dire conditions at refugee camps in Djibouti after fleeing the Saudi war against their country. The US embassy has failed to provide them with assistance, leaving them stranded in the African nation. The Yemeni-Americans say Washington has abandoned them by failing to take any concrete steps to protect them.

5. Iran’s top nuclear negotiator says visiting military sites and interviewing scientists are no longer on the agenda of talks with the P-5+1. Abbas Araqchi said alternative solutions are being worked out to dispel the P5+1 concerns. He said there has been progress in talks, but some differences still remain.

6. Swiss protesters slam FIFA over the condition of migrant workers who are building the infrastructure for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. They demanded that the world body recognize the rights of the workers there. Rights groups have warned about the growing number of laborers’ casualties in Qatar.

7. The French foreign minister has accused Britain of trying to dismantle the European Union. Laurent Fabius says London’s planned referendum on its EU membership is very dangerous. He said Paris will block London's plans to claw back powers from Brussels.

8. Over 1,800 people have died as a result of the weeks-long heat wave in India. Officials say high temperatures have caused water shortages in thousands of villages across the country. The death toll has been the highest in two decades with a red alert declared in several states.
