1. A video has surfaced showing two US police officers in California wrestling a black pregnant woman to the ground on her belly for refusing to show her identification. The late January incident in Barstow was recorded on a police body camera. Police defended the woman’s arrest and denied it was racially motivated.

2. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has denounced the crimes committed by terrorist groups including ISIL, al-Qaeda and Nusrah Front. It has warned that such atrocities could jeopardize international security. The OIC has called for joint regional and international efforts to fight terrorism, stressing the necessity of drying up the terrorists sources of funding.

3. UN member states have condemned the destruction of Iraq's cultural sites by ISIL terrorists as barbaric. The member states, in a non-binding resolution, demanded the prosecution of perpetrators of cultural vandalism. They also warned that attacks on historic monuments may amount to war crimes.

4. At least ten people have been killed and many more injured in two car bombs in the Iraqi capital. The bombs went off outside two of Baghdad's most famous hotels. There is still no claim of responsibility for the attacks.

5. Saudi airstrikes have killed at least one Yemeni and wounded several in Hajjah province. Elsewhere in the capital Sana’a, Saudi fighter jets targeted a house. The warplanes also hit a mosque, a government complex and a central market in Malahid directorate in Sa’ada province.

6. Egyptians have held several protests across the country against death sentences handed to ousted president Mohamed Morsi and more than 100 other people. Protesters described the charges as farcical. Morsi and the other defendants received the verdict in May for their alleged role in a mass prison break in 2011.

7. Protesters in Zurich, Switzerland, have rallied outside FIFA headquarters in support of Palestinians' call for the expulsion of Israel from the world football’s governing body. The demonstrators said Israel should receive a FIFA red card for imposing restrictions on the movement of Palestinian footballers. FIFA's decision is expected on Friday.

8. The UN says the number of people displaced by conflicts in Africa's Sahel has more than doubled in just over a year to 3.5 million. It says the region is facing a very troubling situation with displacement escalating dramatically. The body also urged donor nations to help cover its funding shortfall for the region.
