1. A new website, run by unknown people, is publicizing the identities of pro-Palestinian student activists in the U-S. The website says it aims to prevent the activists from getting jobs when they graduate. The webpage, called Canary Mission, has posted detailed profiles of these activists online.

2. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says the U-S-led coalition against ISIL Takfiri terrorists has failed. Zarif said Iraq has made better gains in cases where the nation has been involved in the fight against the terror group.

3. Reports coming out of Iraq say at least 37 ISIL terrorists have been killed in artillery attacks east of the city of Ramadi. Army forces, backed by Shia and Sunni fighters, also managed to retake two strategic regions from the terrorists southwest of Ramadi.

4. Anti-government protesters have staged a rally in the Brazilian capital, calling for the removal of President Dilma Rousseff. A group of demonstrators headed off to the Congress building where they were joined by opposition lawmakers. Rousseff has come under fire especially over an alleged corruption scandal at Petrobras oil-company

5. Malaysia is investigating 12 policemen suspected of involvement in human-trafficking camps found in the country’s remote north. Authorities say 139 graves have been found on the border with Thailand. The route is used by people-smugglers bringing migrants from Myanmar and Bangladesh into Malaysia.

6. Hundreds of people have been ordered to evacuate flood-threatened areas of Texas as storms bringing torrential rains battered the state. People were told to stay away from more than two-hundred homes in Parker County. At least 19 people have been killed in storms hitting Texas and Oklahoma so far.

7. Prominent Bahraini human rights activist Nabeel Rajab has urged the West to stop supporting the suppressive Manama regime. In a written message to the Oslo Freedom Forum, Rajab said Bahraini people are the victims of both autocratic regime and the so-called democratic West.

8. Russia has reacted to the US probe and its pressure on Swiss officials to arrest senior FIFA officials over alleged corruption. Moscow has accused Washington of what it calls illegally applying legal force far beyond its borders. Swiss police have detained seven FIFA officials in Zurich.
