Yemeni forces have targeted Saudi areas across the border with Yemen, injuring at least seven Saudis.

Yemen’s Popular Committees as well as supporters of the Ansarullah fighters on Sunday fired scores of rockets at the positions of the Saudi forces across the southern borders of Saudi Arabia with Yemen.

The rockets targeted the Saudi border areas near the Yemeni provinces of Sada’a and Hajjah.

At least a tank and a military vehicle were also destroyed in the rocket attacks on the Saudi military base of Segham.

Reports said that the Yemeni forces fired as many as 80 rockets at the premises of the Saudi border guards in the area of At Tuwal in Jizan province, in southwestern Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia reportedly declared a state of emergency in the areas along the southern borders of the country.

In reaction, Saudi fighter jets targeted several areas across Yemen.

According to media outlets on Sunday, the Saudi warplanes targeted the area of Jabal Naqim in the eastern part of the Yemeni capital city of Sana’a as well as Faj Attan in the southern part of the city.

Yemeni air defense forces fired at the Saudi fighter jets and forced them to leave the area.

Saudi fighters pounded the street of al-Sateen, where the country’s Foreign Ministry and the new building of Yemen’s Parliament are located, at least three times in the day

The Saudi warplanes also targeted a number of military bases belonging to the Yemeni army in the strategic area of Dhain Mountain in the northern province of Amran.

The Saudi fighter jets also hit the districts of Kusmah and al-Jafariyah in the Yemeni province of al-Raymah where an Ansarullah leader along with three other fighters lost their lives.

Saudi jets have been carrying out military strikes against Yemen since March 26.

The United Nations (UN) says, since March 19, over 1,800 people have been killed and 7,330 injured due to the conflict in Yemen.
