Iran’s veteran radio anchor Mehran Dousti has passed away at the age of 59.
He was suffering from heart problems and had been hospitalized since a day before his death on Saturday.
Dousti started his career as a radio anchor in 1980 and is best remembered for his work during the Iraq-Iran war, when he used to announce the Iranian Army’s statements on radio.
The acclaimed anchor was awarded by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) for his memorable radio performances.
Mehran Dousti will be buried following a funeral procession in Tehran on May 25.
