Rainbows and other odd weather phenomena have been witnessed on countless occasions, but solar halos are something else.
Passersby in the Mexican capital have been fascinated by a circular solar halo in the skies. Mexico’s National Weather Service has explained that the occurrence is a luminous photometer-shaped ring of 22 to 46 degrees centered on a star. Local media reports say that the natural phenomenon was visible in three cities. Many enthusiasts in Mexico City were seen taking photos of the halo to record the rare event.
