US creating Islamophobia by ISIL: Analyst

The ISIL terrorists were initially trained by the CIA in Jordan in 2012.

A political commentator says the United States wants to create Islamophobia by supporting and arming the ISIL terrorist group in Iraq and Syria.

The US “is establishing Islam as a cult and Islam has been the focus of US foreign policy for years now to present it as a cult and to create Islamophobia and basically turn the public opinion against Islam,” Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich told Press TV on Friday.

“It comes as no surprise that we hear and receive documents about the facts that the West had facilitated the rise” of ISIL, she said.

“Many people have known and voiced for a long time that the United States and the West have behind the creation of ISIL,” she added.

The analyst made the comments after the FBI announced that it has arrested two men in California for allegedly attempting to travel abroad to join the ISIL terrorist group.

One of the men was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport and the other in Orange County.

Both men were unarmed and never posed any threat to the public. The men were due in federal court in Santa Ana on Friday, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said.

Several individuals have been arrested in recent months for plotting to travel to Syria to fight for ISIL.

The ISIL terrorists, many of whom were initially trained by the CIA in Jordan in 2012 to destabilize the Syrian government, now control parts of Iraq and neighboring Syria. They have been engaged in crimes against humanity in the areas under their control.
