Saudi warplanes have once again pounded various cities across Yemen as Riyadh’s brutal military campaign against the impoverished Arab country continues unabated.

On Tuesday, a number of people were killed in an air raid that hit a house in the southern Yemeni province of Dhale.

Saudi fighter jets bombarded different areas in the Yemeni capital city of Sana’a as well as the western province of al-Hudaydah.

In a retaliatory move, popular committees, allied to Houthi Ansarullah fighters, shelled some areas across Yemen’s border with Saudi Arabia.

Speaking from Sana'a, Press TV’s correspondent Yousef Mawry (shown below), meanwhile, said on Tuesday that despite the Saudi claims of allowing the delivery of aid during the five-day ceasefire which ended on Sunday, many Yemenis have been deprived of receiving humanitarian assistance.

The Press TV correspondent also noted that according to reports, the Houthi fighters have recaptured almost 80 percent of Dhale Province.

Saudi Arabia launched its military aggression against Yemen on March 26 - without a UN mandate - in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement, which currently controls the capital, Sana’a, and other major provinces, and to restore power to Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, who is a staunch ally of Riyadh.

UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen Johannes Van der Klaauw said on May 10 that over 1,600 people have been killed and more than 6,200 injured in Yemen since conflict intensified there in late March.
