UK 2015 General Election: A puzzling poll

British Prime Minister David Cameron

The day after the election, Britain woke up to the results that no one expected. Although the victory brought Tory members immense joy, in only a matter of hours they were asking themselves what that victory meant and how David Cameron was going to govern with the majority? The Conservative victory has meanings for the other parties in British politics too.

Meanwhile, lots of people seem to be frustrated by the results. They are not necessarily angry because many voted conservative.

They are mostly angry about the controversial first past the post electoral system and how it is unfairly in favor of big parties.

This election proved the anomalies in the current electoral system. Statistically speaking, the elections required one party to achieve roughly 114 times as many votes per MP as another party.
